There are sweet rewards for loosing a tooth. We told the wait staff what happened in their bathroom and they thought it was a first for their establishment. Then they deliver to Victoria a surprise.
Tooth Loss June 26, 2009
The day came when we would experience the first tooth loss. Victoria and I had went to Papa's in Statesboro to see him. We went out to eat and Dale, Madison and MamMa joined us at Ocean Galley. After some teasing Victoria and Madison went to the bathroom and Madison coerced Victoria into pulling the tooth!! Yeah for Maddie! Victoria was successful! See the video.

We went again!! Scot came up from LaGrange and wanted to check out Henry's. Soooooooo we all got in the car and went to Acworth. We got there and requested Adam as the waiter and got his wonderful hospitality again. We talked with Henry and hoped he had a wonderful birthday. I got the scallops again and talked Scot into having them and Dan got the Calimari all appetizers were great. Salads were wonderful and the entree's delicious. If you haven't had the pleasure of dining at Henry's Louisiana Grill in Acworth, GA

June 6, 2009Dan found 3 new places to eat and he wanted to try one of them. We drove to Acworth to check out a place called Henry's. Louisiana style food. Dan had tasted some of the cuisine at a business function. We arrived and there was about a 25 min wait. We sat outside and got to see Henry be escorted away by his wife into a big Lincoln limo -- it was his birthday!!! Once we were inside we waited for our chance to taste the food we had been inhaling. We were seated at the table and our waiter was Adam. He was great!! Wonderful personality and great host! We both had salads and Dan had an appetizer of shrimp and grits while I had the shallow fried scallops. Dan had the ohh lah lah and I had creole. Victoria had chicken fingers and fries. This place is to die for!!!!!
This is a little late in posting however, Victoria has a video of her Pre school and it has her in the photos. Let's see if we can post it It features snap shots of the kids and parents and teachers. Victoria has had a wonderful time at First Baptist Children's Weekday program. Cindy White is doing an excellent job. Ms. Donna and Ms. MaryAnn are just wonderful with the children. Victoria got to attend some of the summer camps there last year and Vacation Bible School. She is looking forward to attending VBS (starting Sunday June 7th @6:15 and going thru Thursday June 11th. The camps this year are interesting. Victoria is wanting to attend the science camp and so am I. I am tired of cleaning up the experiments I find in my kitchen, bathroom and closets. Here is the (terrible quality) video of the end of school year.
Have a great Summer time!!!!

Summer Vacation

We are only one week into the summer vacation and we have only had 3 major break downs!!
Victoria's first was she wouldn't see her teachers {Ms. Donna or Ms. MaryAnn} again ever! I told her she would when she went to First Baptist for VBS and Summer Camps!
Second we were not going to be able to have a picnic. Once the rain passes we will take the blanket out of the basement and go down to the Village Green the next time they have a concert on the green. We also will go to the park and have one there also.
Third tonight she informed she had not had anything to eat -- except 2 bagels, apple juice, mac and cheese, potato chips and that was nothing!
Now I am reminded of my Mother saying: You need to clean your plate there are starving children in Africa!
July 1, 2008 - Not a happy day

At 3 AM grandma (Ann S. Powell) went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mom died at 3 A.M. at the hospice house. Dad was with her. Victoria and I arrived just after she died. Victoria gave her grandma a kiss goodbye for the last time. I then took her out of the room and explained to her what had happened. She was upset for a few minuets and then asked if Grandma went to be with Aunt Marie and I told her yes they were visiting with each other and Grandma was telling Aunt Marie about all the things that Tori could do since Aunt Marie had seen her. Victoria was eased and began playing with some toys they had there. I rejoined Dad to make sure he was all right. We stayed with Mom until Thomas the representative from the funeral home came. Then we went to the family room and chatted with him. Thomas and I then went back to Mom's room and got her ready for her ride. Her visitation was Wednesday July 2 which was Daddy and Dan's birthday -- not really a celebration. Mom didn't want a visitation; however, Dad and I talked it over and agreed a family viewing, then a closed casket for public visitation. Afterwards, Dad and I were both glad for having the visitation because some of the people were not able to be at the graveside service. July 3rd at 11AM we had the burial -- a graveside service. Elder Howard Rushing officiated. He had been visiting her since she was diagnosed with the cancer and had continued his visitation throughout her chemotherapy and hospitalizations. It was hot!!! Even under a tent it was hot. I think Mom would have been pleased with the funeral arrangements.
Ring bearers and Flower Girl
Rehearsal April 18, 2008

OK I am a little prejudice; however, she is mine!
Victoria was the flower girl for her (?4th) cousin. She did wonderful on the directions given to her the night of the rehearsal dinner. She has been enamored with Kristen since she met her about 2 months ago. Kristen asked her to be the flower girl last year and of course we said yes! The dress in this picture is one that I made her. She was to wear it to another occasion but it was decided she needed to wear something else. Since I cut the pattern out Victoria has lost weight in the upper torso and has grown at least an inch!!!
